المضارع التام أم الماضي البسيط؟

Present perfect or past simple?

تعلّم متى تتحدث عن زمن منتهٍ في الماضي ومتى تربط الماضي بالحاضر.

كلا الزمنين يتحدث عن الماضي، لكن كلًّا منهما ينظر إليه بطريقة مختلفة. الماضي البسيط (past simple) يصف فعلًا في زمن منتهٍ: yesterday وlast week وin 2019 وwhen I was a child. أما المضارع التام (present perfect) (have/has + اسم المفعول) فيربط الماضي بالحاضر. ونستخدمه عندما لا يكون الزمن قد انتهى، أو عندما لا تكون لحظة الحدوث الدقيقة مهمة، أو عندما تهمّ النتيجة الآن.

كلمات زمنية مساعدة

كلمات مثل yesterday وlast month وtwo days ago وin 2020 تشير إلى زمن منتهٍ، لذلك تأتي مع الماضي البسيط. وكلمات مثل ever وnever وalready وyet وjust وso far وsince وfor تأتي غالبًا مع المضارع التام. وكثيرًا ما تبدأ المحادثة بالمضارع التام ثم تنتقل إلى الماضي البسيط للتفاصيل.

  • A: Have you ever tried Ethiopian food? B: Yes, I have. I ate it at a street festival last summer.
  • Aiko has just finished her report, so she can help us now.
  • Tomás started his new job three weeks ago.
