Present perfect หรือ past simple?
Present perfect or past simple?
เรียนรู้ว่าเมื่อใดพูดถึงเวลาที่จบแล้วในอดีต และเมื่อใดเชื่อมโยงอดีตกับปัจจุบัน
ทั้งสองกาลพูดถึงอดีต แต่มองอดีตต่างกัน กาล past simple อธิบายการกระทำในเวลาที่จบแล้ว: yesterday, last week, in 2019, when I was a child ส่วน present perfect (have/has + past participle) เชื่อมอดีตกับปัจจุบัน เราใช้เมื่อช่วงเวลายังไม่จบ เมื่อเวลาที่แน่นอนไม่สำคัญ หรือเมื่อผลลัพธ์ยังสำคัญในปัจจุบัน
| ประเด็น | รูป past simple | กาล present perfect |
|---|---|---|
| Form | worked, went, saw | have / has + worked, gone, seen |
| Time | a finished time: yesterday, last year, ago | an unfinished or unstated time: today, this week, ever, never |
| Experience | Ravi visited Lisbon in 2022. | Ravi has visited Lisbon twice. |
| Duration | Lena lived in Oslo for five years. (She doesn't now.) | Lena has lived in Oslo for five years. (She still does.) |
คำบอกเวลาที่ช่วยได้
คำอย่าง yesterday, last month, two days ago และ in 2020 ชี้ไปที่เวลาที่จบแล้ว จึงใช้กับ past simple ส่วนคำอย่าง ever, never, already, yet, just, so far, since และ for มักใช้กับ present perfect บทสนทนามักเริ่มด้วย present perfect แล้วเปลี่ยนเป็น past simple เมื่อเล่ารายละเอียด
- A: Have you ever tried Ethiopian food? B: Yes, I have. I ate it at a street festival last summer.
- Aiko has just finished her report, so she can help us now.
- Tomás started his new job three weeks ago.
- This is the first time I've visited this museum.
- We haven't seen the new science centre yet.
