الجملة الشرطية الأولى والثانية

First and second conditionals

تحدّث عن الاحتمالات الحقيقية في المستقبل والمواقف الخيالية في الحاضر.

تتكون الجملة الشرطية من جزأين: جملة if (if-clause) (الشرط) والجملة الرئيسية (main clause) (النتيجة). والأزمنة التي نختارها تُظهر مدى واقعية الموقف أو احتماله.

في الجملة الشرطية الثانية لا يدل شكل الماضي على زمن ماضٍ، بل يدل على البعد عن الواقع. ومع be نستخدم غالبًا were مع كل الفاعلين، خاصة في الإنجليزية الدقيقة. وIf I were you, I would... طريقة شائعة لتقديم النصيحة. وIf I was شائعة أيضًا في الكلام اليومي.

قارن: If I get the job, I'll move to Lisbon. (أجريت مقابلة، لذلك الأمر ممكن.) If I got a job in Lisbon, I'd move there. (لا أبحث عن وظيفة. إنها مجرد فكرة.)

ترتيب الكلمات وكلمات مفيدة أخرى

يمكن أن تأتي جملة if أولًا أو ثانيًا. استخدم فاصلة عندما تأتي أولًا. ويمكنك استخدام unless بمعنى if not، واستخدام might أو could في الجملة الرئيسية عندما تكون النتيجة أقل يقينًا.

  • We'll miss the bus if we don't leave now.
  • Unless you hurry, you'll be late.
  • If Ravi had more free time, he could learn the guitar.
  • What would you do if you found a wallet in the street?
