third conditional จินตนาการถึงอดีตที่ต่างออกไป เพราะอดีตเปลี่ยนไม่ได้ เราจึงมักใช้แสดงความเสียใจ การตำหนิ หรือความโล่งใจ Mixed conditionals รวมสองกรอบเวลาเข้าด้วยกัน คือเงื่อนไขสมมติในอดีตกับผลลัพธ์ในปัจจุบัน หรือสถานการณ์สมมติในปัจจุบันกับผลลัพธ์ในอดีต
