ภาษาอังกฤษมี present tense สองแบบ present simple ใช้กับนิสัย กิจวัตร และข้อเท็จจริงที่เป็นจริงเสมอ ส่วน present continuous (am / is / are + verb-ing) ใช้กับการกระทำที่เกิดขึ้นตอนนี้หรือในช่วงนี้ และสถานการณ์ชั่วคราว
