현재형 또는 현재진행형
Present simple or present continuous
습관과 사실에는 현재형을, 지금 일어나고 있는 행동에는 현재진행형을 골라 써 봅시다.
영어에는 현재 시제가 두 가지 있습니다. present simple(현재형)은 습관, 일상, 언제나 사실인 일에 씁니다. present continuous(현재진행형)(am / is / are + 동사-ing)은 지금 또는 지금 즈음 일어나는 행동과 일시적인 상황에 씁니다.

상태 동사
어떤 동사는 행동이 아니라 상태를 나타냅니다. 지금을 뜻할 때도 보통 현재형으로 씁니다: like, love, hate, want, need, know, understand, remember, believe, own. I am knowing the answer가 아니라 I know the answer라고 말합니다.
- Aiko usually walks to school, but today she is taking the bus because it is raining.
- Listen! Someone is playing the piano upstairs.
- Water boils at 100 degrees Celsius.
- I don't understand this question. Can you help me?
- My cousin is staying with us until Friday.
