รูปกลับประธานสามแบบแต่ละแบบแทน if ในประโยคเงื่อนไขหนึ่งประเภท Should + subject (Should you need help, ask) แทน if you should need ซึ่งเป็นความเป็นไปได้ที่สุภาพหรือมีน้อย Were + subject (+ to) (Were she to accept, she would move) แทน if she were to accept Had + subject + past participle (Had it not been for the warning, many would have suffered) แทน if it had not been for
