Have something done and advanced passives

Bicarakan pekerjaan yang dilakukan orang lain untukmu, dan pakai passive dengan modal serta tense perfect dan continuous.

Kita memakai have + object + past participle ketika orang lain mengerjakan sesuatu untuk kita, biasanya karena kita membayar atau memintanya. Fokusnya pada hasil, bukan pada orang yang mengerjakan. Get + object + past participle artinya sama dan sedikit lebih santai.

Reporting passive seperti it is believed, it is thought, dan it is said umum dipakai dalam tulisan formal ketika sumbernya umum atau tidak diketahui. Setelah subjek, pakai to + infinitive, atau to have + past participle untuk tindakan yang terjadi lebih dulu.

  • It is believed that the island was once joined to the mainland.
  • The new stadium is expected to open next year.
  • The bridge is thought to have been built around 1400.
