Have something done and advanced passives

다른 사람이 나를 위해 해 주는 일에 대해 말하고, 조동사, 완료 시제, 진행 시제와 함께 수동태를 사용합니다.

다른 사람이 우리를 위해 일을 해 줄 때, 보통 돈을 내거나 부탁해서 하는 경우에 have + object + past participle을 사용합니다. 초점은 일을 한 사람이 아니라 결과에 있습니다. Get + object + past participle도 같은 뜻이며 조금 더 구어체입니다.

시제예

같은 구조로, 내가 준비하지 않았는데 일어난 달갑지 않은 일도 나타낼 수 있습니다: Tomás had his flight cancelled because of the fog.

it is believed, it is thought, it is said 같은 보고 수동태는 출처가 일반적이거나 알려지지 않았을 때 격식 있는 글에서 흔히 쓰입니다. 주어 뒤에는 to + 동사원형을 사용하고, 더 앞선 행동에는 to have + 과거분사를 사용합니다.

  • It is believed that the island was once joined to the mainland.
  • The new stadium is expected to open next year.
  • The bridge is thought to have been built around 1400.
