مستوى الأسلوب: المرادفات الرسمية وغير الرسمية

Register: formal and informal equivalents

طابِق بين الكلمات الرسمية مثل commence وascertain وreside ومرادفاتها اليومية، واختر مستوى الأسلوب المناسب للرسائل والتقارير.

مستوى الأسلوب (register) هو درجة الرسمية التي يتطلبها الموقف. في الرسائل الرسمية والتقارير والكتابة الأكاديمية، غالبًا ما يحلّ فعل من أصل لاتيني محل فعل يومي قصير: نقول commence بدل start. وفي المستوى C2 يُنتظر منك أن تنتقل بين مستويات الأسلوب بسهولة، وأن تلاحظ متى تبدو كلمة رسمية مضحكة في سياق غير رسمي.
