A short note to a friend

Write a short note to tell a friend where you are, ask for help or make a simple plan.

A note is a short, informal message. You can leave it on the kitchen table or send it on your phone. A good note says why you are writing, gives the important information (what, when, where) and is friendly. You can use short forms like I'm, it's and don't.

A note on the kitchen table

Hi Lena,

I'm at the shop. I need bread and some fruit for lunch. I'm back at about 12 o'clock. Do you want anything from the shop? Send me a message.

Can you give the cat some food, please? The cat food is in the cupboard, on the top shelf. Please don't open the back door. The cat must stay inside today.

Thanks,

Ravi

Sample answer

Hi Jamal,

I'm at the swimming pool with my sister. We're back at about 4 o'clock.

Can you take the clothes out of the washing machine, please? Put them on the chairs in the garden. It's sunny today! And please don't eat the cake in the fridge. It's for my mum's birthday.

Thanks a lot,

Sofia
