Why this helps
Many sounds that English keeps apart are a single sound in other languages, so ship and sheep or light and right can sound the same at first. In studies of this kind of training, with many voices and the answer straight away, learners heard such sounds better afterwards, kept the gain and also heard new words better. A few short rounds on different days work better than one long session.
The voices are synthetic (Kokoro-82M, Apache-2.0 licence). The word pairs are our own.
