- I ordered this parcel almost a fortnight ago, and the tracking page has not changed since last Tuesday.'Fortnight' significa dos semanas. 'Ordered this' se enlaza como 'ordered-this'.
- I can see that it reached our sorting depot, but it appears to have been sent to the wrong region.'Depot' tiene una t muda: DEP-oh en inglés británico, DEE-poh en inglés americano. 'Appears to have been' se reduce: 'appears-ta-v-been'.
- That would explain the silence, although I am surprised nobody noticed the mistake sooner.'Would explain' se enlaza como 'wood-explain'. 'Noticed the' une la t y la th: 'noticed-the'.
- I will arrange for a replacement to be dispatched today, and you will not be charged for it.'Arrange for ... to be dispatched' usa un infinitivo pasivo. 'Charged' se dice con un sonido j: CHARJD.
- Thank you; if the original turns up as well, I will happily send it back at no cost.'Turns up' significa llegar de forma inesperada. 'Send it back' se enlaza como 'sen-di-back'.
