過去形：規則動詞と不規則動詞
Past simple: regular and irregular verbs
規則動詞の -ed、よく使う不規則動詞、did を使って、過去に終わった行動を話します。
past simple（過去形）は、過去に始まって過去に終わった行動や状況に使います。いつ起こったかを言うことがよくあります：yesterday、last week、two days ago、in 2019。
規則動詞
規則動詞は -ed をつけます：work → worked, visit → visited。-e で終わる動詞は -d だけをつけます：live → lived。子音＋y で終わる動詞は y を -ied に変えます：study → studied。母音1つ＋子音1つで終わる短い動詞は、最後の文字を重ねます：stop → stopped, plan → planned。
よく使う不規則動詞
よく使う動詞の多くは不規則です。ルールはないので、リストにして覚えるとよいでしょう。

否定文と疑問文
否定文と疑問文では、did または didn't と動詞の原形を使います。これは規則動詞でも不規則動詞でも、どの主語でも同じです。
- Lena visited her cousins in Valencia last summer.
- We went to the lake on Sunday and had a picnic.
- Ravi didn't finish his homework yesterday.
- Did you see the fireworks? Yes, I did.
- Where did Aiko buy that lamp?
