試験スキル：書き換え問題（key word transformation）と言い換え

Exam skills: key word transformation and paraphrase

上級の試験スキルの独自の練習で、公式のテストではありません。与えられたキーワードを使って文を書き換え、微妙で慣用的な文の最も近い言い換えを選びます。

key word transformation では、大文字のキーワードを使って、2 つ目の文を 1 つ目の文と同じ意味になるように完成させます。キーワードは答えに必ず使い、空所には通常 2 語から 5 語が必要です。このレベルでは、決まった言い回し、倒置、譲歩、受動態の構造が出題され、文法や意味がわずかに変わっただけで答えは間違いになります。

  8. However hard the engineers tried, they could not repair the fault. KEY WORD: MATTER. Complete: the engineers tried, they could not repair the fault.
