Academic verbs and collocations

에세이, 보고서, 토론에서 쓰는 underpin, corroborate, shed light on, give rise to 같은 정확한 동사와 고정 표현을 익힙니다.

고급 학술 글쓰기는 일반적인 동사보다 정확한 동사에 의존합니다. 연구가 무언가를 보여 주거나 무언가로 이어진다고 말하는 대신, 필자는 증거가 어떻게 주장을 뒷받침하거나 약화시키거나 새로운 의문을 여는지를 정확히 나타내는 동사를 고릅니다. 이런 동사 중 다수는 강한 연어를 이루므로, 각 동사를 보통 함께 쓰이는 단어와 함께 익히세요.

underpin동사
아이디어, 이론, 체계의 토대를 이루어 뒷받침하다Three basic assumptions underpin the whole model.
corroborate동사
추가 증거를 제시하여 주장이나 연구 결과를 확인하다Independent witnesses were able to corroborate her account.
undermine동사

allude to구동사

substantiate a claim표현

draw a distinction표현

shed light on표현

yield동사
