What do you do?（お仕事は何ですか）や Where do you work?（どこで働いていますか）は、初対面のときによくある質問です。これらの単語を学んで、職業、職場、一緒に働く人について話せるようになりましょう。

- 病気の人の世話をする人で、たいていは病院にいるMy cousin is a nurse at the city hospital.
- mechanic名詞
- 車や機械を修理する人The mechanic fixed our car in one day.
- chef名詞
- レストランで料理をする人The chef makes fresh pasta every morning.
- receptionist名詞
- ホテルや会社で訪問者を迎え、電話に応対する人Ask the receptionist for your room key.
- engineer名詞
- 機械、道路、橋を設計したり造ったりする人Aiko is an engineer. She designs bridges.
- farmer名詞
- 農場で食べ物を育てたり動物を飼ったりする人The farmer gets up at five to feed the cows.
- office名詞
- 人が机に向かって働く部屋や建物My father works in an office in the town centre.
- factory名詞

- colleague名詞
- 一緒に働く人I have lunch with my colleagues every day.
- salary名詞
- 仕事でもらうお金で、たいていは毎月She got a higher salary in her new job.
- full-time形容詞
- 1週間の通常の勤務時間をすべて働くJamal has a full-time job at a hotel.
